To restore physical, mental, social and spiritual well-being.
This is a comprehensive weekend conference to help those with mental health, relational, or physical challenges as a result of past traumas. And also, the professional or personal caregivers, and families, of trauma survivors.
"Trauma" and being "trauma-informed" are language that has significantly risen to prominence in recent years. Trauma's impact is now known unequivocally to impact health and well-being throughout life. Our collective trauma of the Covid-19 pandemic is still fresh on our minds.
Published studies show that well over 50% of presentations to healthcare providers are for symptoms or conditions that have psychosocial roots from either childhood or adult traumas, and the resulting chronic stress of those unhealed traumas.
Our keynote speaker, Mr. Mike Hutchings, has worked extensively with military and first responder victims of trauma, many with formal diagnoses of PTSD (post-traumatic stress disorder). His approach has now broadened to trauma survivors of both domestic and systemic abuse, as well as survivors of neglect. Over four keynotes he will teach on the effects of trauma and will equip conference attendees how to heal and serve trauma survivors.
The Saturday afternoon will offer two sets of 85-minute breakout sessions on everything from the healing benefits of movement and art, to helping youth deal with anxiety and depression, and professionals on the very latest mind-body neuroscience.
More about the often hidden effects of unhealed trauma and how this conference can help.
